Alexander Rømer Christensen -
Dark Artist and upcoming Tattoo Artist
(Neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ Friendly)
What was your journey like?
I started my portfolio back in late 2022, when I almost stood without roof over my head. It wasn’t planned, but I had played with the idea of trying to get into art again through a new medium - and hell, I could even attempt what I had been told was impossible all my life - pursue an art career.
I mean what did I have to lose at that point?
Little did I know that one single “what if” scenario turned into newly found life gist and the most solid network of friends and likeminded people I could ask for. Many would even dare to say my journey has been slow compared to many, but in these couple of years I’ve managed to go to a bunch of markets, nurture my biggest interests and fall in love with my art all over again.
What inspires your art the most?
My art is heavily inspired by everything from:
Classical fine art
1800s macabre history - including mourning practices, hoaxes, myths, art, fashion and day to day life in that period. All seen through an almost dark romantic lens.
Cryptids / Folklore
Medieval themes - even bleeding into DnD themes
Horror
Gothic culture, literature and architecture
I also have a special interest in vampires which reflects perfectly in a lot of my art - even down to my username. Which of course is also a play on “An Interview with the Vampire”.
That being said; Now that you’ve looked at my work and heard a bit about me and my art, are you ready to let me work with you on your next piece?
I would love to hear from you, so we can create something beautiful :)
Remember: Some people might say “My body is my temple so why should I ruin it with tattoos” but have you ever looked at the ceiling of a church and seen it plain and simple? No? Exactly.
